A lawsuit brought by a Montana couple against St. Vincent Healthcare and two of its doctors was settled out of court recently, not more than two days into a jury trial which had been expected to last weeks.

Blake and Jennifer Jaeger sued the hospital and doctors after their daughter was born with permanent brain damage due to complications during childbirth. Their lawsuit alleged that their daughter’s injuries were caused by a communication error in the hospital which delayed a needed Caesarean section procedure.

The settlement was reached as part of an undisclosed agreement.
